Check out the below event recap for the latest MMoRC event!
The Michigan MONSTERS of RC are back and what a better way to kick off the new season of events than to host our 2012 Summer Jam!! The event was held July 28th at the Kellogg Education Center in Nashville, Michigan. This was our previous venue site and we are excited to be back and working with the new owners and running our events along side the YMCA of Barry County who is heading up a bunch of new programs for the children of the community. We will be here for many more seasons to come so our future is looking pretty solid for Replica RC Monster Jam racing in Michigan!
Our event started off Friday with setup and some practice laps with my kids and Shane who helped me set everything up and clean the carpet for the event the following day. The carpet had been stored for quite some time so it needed a good thorough cleaning. Everything worked great and we were ready for some racing! I opened the doors on Saturday morning and shortly we had racers piling in ready to lay some rubber down on the figure 8 track of our VP’s design. It was a really fun and fast track, easily managed by the Novice and Pro’s no problem. We shot out of the gate and hit the first stack of cars then ran a figure 8 inside of the car jumps and ended with one more hit to the cars and through the finish gates. Awesome lap times were being made all day long. Our returning Novice kids had some new trucks to show off and you could tell the excitement was running deep with grins and laughs all day long. We also implemented a new class, the Traxxas Monster Jam Stampede class was our newest Box Stock class and this showed to be a hit as well with the racers. These trucks are fast and sooo much fun and their Replica looks are top notch! Pro Modified showed our club what they are made of with a strong showing of 36 Modified trucks competing for the top spot. 52 entries in all and what a awesome display of dedication from our racers.
We cannot thank our supporters enough for their contributions to our event. CowRC donated 5 mini magnetic flat mat packages with a decal sheet and a tote bag. Steel Skinz donated a custom Northern Nightmare Summer Jam wrapped shell for the Freestyle winner. S2 Paint and Graphics donated windshield decals of our club logo. Steel Skinz also made our Summer Jam Plaques for the race winners and let me tell you they were awesome!!
Here is a great shot of our racing facility. HUGE Thanks to Clint for taking so many great pictures of our event. What a great way to share our great day with you all having so many good pics to show off. We have the stage for a great pit area and more room out in the hallway and class rooms. We also have our own storage room under the bleachers.
