Do you love writing? How about R/C? Ever dreamed of combining the two? If so, we might have room for you here at RC Soup.
As many of you know, this site is basically a two man operation (Matt & Kevin). We’ve had some much appreciated help from a few other contributors (Jim, Jarodd, Joe, George, and John), and while we do the best we can, we think there is room for improvement with the amount of original articles we produce. We’re looking for reinforcements to contribute some extra content.
What exactly are we looking for you ask? Well.. let me provide some examples of types of articles we’d be interested in.
- Kit Build Ups (Nothing we’ve already covered, doesn’t have to be a new release)
- Kit / RTR Vehicle or Product Reviews
- Projects (especially if they include custom mods)
- Pit Tips
We aren’t focused solely on racing vehicles, if you are a basher who only owns a Savage XS and have modded it to kingdom come, you’re welcome too. In fact, we encourage you to apply if you could bring something new to the table. You don’t actually need to be the world’s greatest writer. If you can string coherent sentences together with proper punctuation, photos would help with the rest, plus we have a crack editing team.
What’s in it for you? Well.. You can be a part of Team Soup by association, which is a pretty tight-knit, fun-loving group of R/C’ers. Decals/T-Shirt type support is likely what we’d be able to offer at the moment, maybe more in the future. If you are in the Central New York area, we’d love you to participate in some of our projects, raffle ticket sales, events, and reviews.
How do you apply? You can email news@rcsoup.com, with the following:
- Some background info about yourself (Your R/C history, not your SSN)
- A link to some things you’ve written (forum post about a project etc) or include it in the email (we won’t use anything without permission)
- Tell us why you’d like to become a part of RC Soup
Other details:
If you specialize in a certain area (oval, touring cars, F1, crawling, scaling, monster trucks, whatever), feel free to apply. We’re into all r/c even if it’s something we haven’t normally been focused on.. Heck, even if you’re a boat guy!
I’d also like to note that we are looking for serious inquiries only. If you don’t have a lot of time to help, but would like to, please be upfront about it, or think if you can commit to it before emailing us. We’re fine with someone submitting a 1 time article or build up, but are also looking for consistent contributors too.
Also, please be over 18. Sorry kids, we value your opinion as well but we don’t want to run into any weird legal quandaries.
Please do not take it personally if we don’t respond to your email right away.
