X Factory convincingly won three modified classes at the Tennessee Winter Championship race help this past weekend at Thunder R/C in Nashville. Robert Dirla has held the Winter Championship race for several years now, and a tight challenging lay-out awaited over 120 entries at this first weekend of spring event. Instead of trophies, Dirla awarded half the entry fees for each class split among the top three finishers and the dash for cash was on.
Paul TQed and won both the mod buggy class with his X – 6 Cubed and mod short course with his SCX – 61 prototype. In buggy, the Cubed took all four qualifiers by more than half a lap. Sinclair then won the 6-minute main with a lead of almost a full lap over second place.
In SC, Team driver Cade Bivens accompanied Paul at the top of the lists driving his SCX – 60CF. Sinclair won three of the qualifiers ahead of Bivens, who won the other to start second on the grid. In the A main, Paul made an early mistake and Cade led for a lap, but after that it was all Sinclair and the new SCX – 61, with Bivens finishing second.
The stadium truck is coming back, and X Factory Family member Jason Fisher qualified second with his X – 60. After the TQ made an early mistake, Fisher took over the lead and never looked back, winning the main by over a lap on the entire field.
Bivens also finished seventh in the buggy A main with his X – 6 Cubed.
