X Factory’s Alec Sanderson journeyed to Rocky Mountain R/C Raceway in Colorado Springs, CO the first weekend in May for the R.O.A.R. Region 10 Championship race, and TQed & won the stock Short Course class.
After retiring from round 1 with a broken arm, Sanderson came back to TQ qualifying round 2 with his SCX – 60CF. Mistakes in the rhythm section set him back to second in round 3, but a gear change gave him some extra speed and in round 4 he put in the only 22-lap run of the day to lock in the TQ spot.
A big error on lap two put Alec back to fourth in the A main. After the race, Sanderson said, “My X Factory SCX – 60CF was on point, and it didn’t take long for me to come back.” Sanderson took over the lead for good a few laps later and cruised to the win almost a lap up on second place.
Alec added, “The track had a number of 180s and a challenging center rhythm section. Rocky Mountain Raceway ran it wet, so it was a good test of patience and consistency.”
Good Job Alec! FYI – Alec also debuted the new Team Powers Actinium motors in this region at this race. We thank him for the Win!
