This is the stock steering rack that comes with the truck. It is plastic, which would be fine for a basher application. Since we are going to be racing ours, I opted for an aluminum steering rack from Atomik RC. The aftermarket bellcrank will reduce flex and provide full and precise steering to the truck.
I threaded the screws for the steering links in before I mounted the new steering rack on the truck, but you could put these in after it is on.
We did reuse the bearings from the plastic steering rack.
This plastic plate holds the whole thing together.
And now we can attach the steering links using the screws we put in earlier.
We finally attach the front bulkhead assembly to the chassis. Large 4mm screws are used here for durability and strength.
The bumper support gets attached to the shock tower.
And the front end is basically complete.
