Here’s another quick pit tip from our friend Tyler Prinzivalli up in Connecticut.
To prevent your chassis from bottoming out on big jumps, pickup some soft rubber tubing from the hardware or autoparts store. Cut the tubing so that when the suspension is fully compressed the chassis isn’t touching the ground. Since it has some natural ‘give’, rubber tubing won’t scratch shock shafts and won’t damage shock collars like a metal or hard plastic spacer would.
You can also use this as a tuning aid. By putting a section of tube on the shaft inside the shock body, you can limit how far out the shock can travel.
