Calandra Racing Concepts delivers a double 1-2 punch at the Halloween Classic!
Wynn and Gerber go 1-2 in WGT and Formula 1!
New Black Art GT86 body T.Q.’s and wins World GT!
The Halloween Classic race in the Cleveland, OH has been a well attended event for over 20 years. The 2013 version had an impressive 205 entries from all over the USA. Most all of the carpet road course specialists were in Ohio for a weekend of ultra-competitive racing.
In the Formula 1 class, Brian Wynn wanted a bit of revenge after dominating the Vegas race a few weeks before. At that race, after winning every round of qualifying with his new CRC WTF-1 car to set T.Q., an incident in the A-main with a lapped driver cost him the win. His CRC teammate, Mario Ficco, was right there running a close second. Mario took the Vegas victory with Brian second for a strong a 1-2 finish for the WTF-1. Now fast forward to the Halloween Classic… Brian set fast time in qualifying to take T.Q.. In the USF1 triple 15 minute A-main format, Brian won all 3 mains and took the overall victory. CRC driver and Ohio native Wayne Gerber received his CRC WTF-1 at the event, never having a chance to try the car until practice on Friday before the mains. Wayne took second to Brian in each of the 3 A-mains to secure the second position overall. With the Mario Ficco/Brian Wynn 1-2 in Vegas and the Wynn/Gerber 1-2 a few weeks later at the Halloween race, the new CRC WTF-1 is undefeated.

Black Art GT86 body – A new sheriff in town for the World GT class!
CRC has worked closely with the European body manufacturer, Black Art, for many years. In 2010, Black Art won the 1/12th World Championship with the R8C body. Now, CRC + Black Art enter the World GT market with the new GT86 body. This sharp new World GT body made its debut at the Halloween Classic event. Brian Wynn took his new GT86 body and CRC Gen-X 10 SE car to a T.Q. and win! The car was set up straight out of the box, no fancy options or special parts. In the A-main, his fast lap was almost 3 tenths of a second faster than any other car…. smoking! There were 6 Gen-X 10’s in the A-main including second place finisher, Wayne Gerber. Another solid 1-2 result for Team CRC.
