Road to Vintage Nats: Associated RC10 Reboot

Time for turnbuckles! I’m installing Lunsford Punisher turnbuckles and their rod ends.

Again, as I mentioned earlier, this is what I should have needed, but for some reason, I ended up needing much shorter rears, and a much longer servo link. What I ended up using is towards the beginning of the article.

Ok, let’s finish this front end. Now, the shocks… with their thick spring adjustment collar, I had to use something with much more spacing than the stock standoff had. I used a few Aluminum Ballstud washers from AVID to do the job.

A little hokey, sure.. but it works. Better than using 6 washers.

With these spacers you can see the collar still just barely clears the tower.

Now we install our turnbuckles up front.

I used the RPM Nylon nuts to mount the top of the shocks and for the front wheel nuts, as I remember using back in the day.

The rear hubs require these longer ballstuds to be used for the rear camber link.

Nice build up! Good luck at VNats. Gotta say that its kinda like sacrilege to see K shocks on an old AE!
