Radio Tray!
The radio tray is a sleek design with the steering servo in the front with the radio box in the rear. There is a channel to route the wire from front to rear and clips for keeping them away from the center diff.
The trusty Savox 1258 TG. Love this servo.
The space behind the steering servo allows enough room for a large speed control.
The battery tray is a Tekno standard. It has slots for the velcro straps. Two width wise and one length wise, this ensures that battery will NOT come out even with the lousiest driver at the wheel.
Plenty of room for a large 550 size motor can. Don’t be concerned about the strange angle of the steering horn. Line them up so they are parallel to each other.
Pretty much ready for business. CRC lipo battery. Hobbywing SC Pro Combo. Add your favorite body and tires and tear the track up.
Threw a quick lid on it from JConcepts. Ready for some tires.
The first race with this was a couple weeks ago at a CRC sunday race. It is our local track and it always features a technical track with a long straight and a massive triple or double. The season opened up with them using the track from last year. It was very bumpy and blown out. As I said earlier I used the radio gear from my SC10 4×4 for a direct comparison. Right out of the box this thing was a missile and handled great. I can see why this truck has taken the 4×4 SC class by storm. I took the first few laps easy until I got used to the truck, but it was apparent this truck could be pushed hard! I started to get comfortable with the truck and was making great laps. This was my first time with the truck and on the track. I was immediately running with the fast local guys.
In the two races I have been at I have finished 3rd. Not a bad start. I am going to try some new tires from VP Pro and a set-up from Tekno for this weekend’s Pro Series at CRC. Stay tuned as I report more of this truck as I race club races and the Short Course Nationals later in the summer. So far this truck is worth the hype and the money!
