Truck out of the box. I have to give it this.. it does look really sharp. I love the Orange/Black paint.
Body off shot. This mildly resembles the Losi Strike. I’m not sure if any of the parts are the same, but it has the same style lifted chassis and nerf bars. It has decent center ground clearance with the kicked up chassis, but for racing, handling will likely suffer. We’ll see.
Here you can see the front bumper area and the receiver box (notice antenna poking out).
The layout reminds me a lot of a Stampede in some ways that all of the components are laid out straight down the chassis, and the ESC is on a plate in front of the rear shock tower. That’s not a bad thing, it’s an efficient way of laying it all out on a narrow chassis. I like the locking battery strap that doesn’t require body clips that tend to get lost.
Rear end.
Underside of the truck. I like all the skid plates. They will help strengthen the chassis and prevent dirt from getting to areas where it shouldn’t get to.
One thing you should always do when you buy a RTR is give it a glance over to make sure everything is good to go. Sometimes weird stuff happens in shipment, or maybe something was missed at the factory. When these first came out, someone at the track bought one, and ran it, not realizing the gear mesh wasn’t right from the box, and he stripped a spur gear within a few laps. In this case everything looked good except one of the lower spring retainers wasn’t seated right.
Another thing that I spotted from the box, was that the ESC was set to the ON position. This meant that it turned on as soon as I plugged in the battery. Just something to watch for.
The Torment comes with some decent knobby tires. They probably are not the best for racing, but fine for the yard.
Another overhead shot with the battery installed before we give this beast a whirl.
The underside. I noticed the toe was slightly off.. the turnbuckles are non-adjustable.. hmm.
I came with my friend Emily. Her dad , George races r/c truck . It was great . I would love one myself.
Good enough for kids
Rc starter for them
