ARRMA ADX-10 2wd Off-Road Race Buggy Review

I ran this buggy several times all weekend. I ran it in 4 heats, then the A Main of 2wd buggy where I took it to a third place podium finish! I also ran it quite a few times in practice in between rounds. I estimate I have roughly 10 packs through it. After ten packs, we had only two issues. The first being the steering link ball cup. On the CRC track, at the end of the long straightaway, there is a drop off. I estimate you drop anywhere from 18″-20″ down. On two occasions early on in my driving this buggy, I lawn darted the buggy off the drop off section. This means I hit the ground nose first, hard. In both occasions, the ball cup popped off the steering knuckle on the left side of the buggy. This was an easy fix, as it popped right back on. Once I learned not to lawn dart the buggy (duh!), I didn’t have another issue with the ball cups all weekend. The second issue I had was the pinion gear came loose during my very first run. The little grub screw loosened, allowing the pinion to spin freely on the motor shaft. I tightened it back up and didn’t have another issue.

Time to rate this bad boy. How did the ARRMA ADX-10 stack up?

Value At $189.99 retail (at the time of this writing), this is a super deal for an RC of this quality. It requires very little additional parts to get it running out of the box, just batteries and a charger. It even comes with tires that are usable on many surfaces.
Appearance I personally like the looks of this buggy. It has an attractive paint job. We got the red and white version, but there are other color options available. The radio looks kinda funky, but is very functional. It is comfortable in your hands too.
Performance Plenty of speed, good handling, but slow steering takes away a spoon.
Durability This buggy really took a beating. Not that I was trying to break it, but I really put it through its paces. I hit pipes, I rolled it over sideways, front-ways, backwards. I got run over by short course trucks during practice. Nothing broke while we were testing.
Would I buy again? I would absolutely buy this buggy.

Overall I give the ARRMA ADX-10 Buggy a 4.5 out of 5 Spoons

We ran this buggy for two days, in blistering heat, in a pure race environment. Bashers might find that this buggy is great out of the box, whereas racers might want to upgrade the servo. But both groups will agree, there is a lot of bang for the buck here. Once you want to upgrade to brushless for even more power, the metal gear tranny is already waiting for you.

  1. […] CRC went through some minor track changes the week before the Intergalactic Short Course Championships. If you’ve seen our Slash 4×4 LCG Shootout video, that was what CRC’s track layout was before the Intergalactic Short Course Championships. You can see the new track layout for the Intergalactic Short Course Championships in our review of the Arrma ADX-10 Buggy. […]
