This is just a really quick pit tip idea for you guys like me that might have shock oils & diff oils laying all over the place. Or, perhaps they are in one place, like mine were.. in a greasy Ziploc bag that you always dreaded digging into. Maybe it looks a little like this?
Well those days are over, at least for me. Today I ventured out in search of a container to hold all my oils upright, with little movement, in a spill resistant container. One thing I don’t like about my assortment of oils is the variety in containers. I have some older oils with caps, and newer ones with the twist top (which are taller). I finally remembered to measure a container before hitting the store (or you could take a bottle with you if you’re into that kinda thing). The Associated screw top containers measure just under 5″. To accommodate all my bottles I needed a container that was at LEAST that deep.
I stumbled on this Sterilite (model 1962) container at the local Dollar General. It cost me a whopping $3.50. It measures 11″L x 6 5/8″W x 5 3/8″D. It’s got green locking handles for the lid, and should fit just fine in my tote or pit box.
If you have the oils with normal flat-top caps, you can further organize your collection by writing the oil weight on the cap with a Sharpie.
