Meet local hot shoe, Tom Firsching. A CRC native, he races 1/12 on-road carpet as well as nitro 1/8 scale classes outdoors. Tom won the 1/8 Pro Buggy class last year at the Pro Series (@ CRC), edging out Billy Fischer. Tom also recently won the Pro2 & Buggy classes of the most recent CRC Meltdown race back in March. Needless to say, this guy is fast. We caught a few minutes with him to ask him some questions.

Any tips for new RC racers? Said Matt Francis said it best in an old interview article: “Perfect Practice Makes Perfect”. In other words, if you are going to practice, do so with the truck as it would be on race day. Don’t try to practice with it dirty, busted, or in otherwise ill-shape, because you’re just wasting your time since the car won’t be the same as if you were racing it.
