Tim Marx, driving the X – 6 Squared, won stock buggy last weekend in round 2 of the Summer Series at the Omaha, Nebraska HobbyTown Hobby Plex. The HobbyPlex outdoor track was the scene of the 2009 ROAR off-road Nationals, and in September 2011 they opened a brand new and quite massive indoor clear-span facility for off-road racing. Especially for drivers in the stock class, this weekend’s lay-out was challenging, featuring several large jumps and a rhythm section.
Tim Marx commented, “I’ve only been with the X-Team a few months, and this weekend I got really in synch with the X – 6 Squared. I had been driving too timidly, trying not to make mistakes, but this weekend I decided to push the car hard, and it all clicked. It’s such a forgiving car, yet responds very well to inputs, so I can drive it hard. The X – 6 Squared was super stable and I was faster through the infield by far.
Tim qualified 6th for the race, but moved steadily through the field to take the 2WD buggy stock motor win. Tim also finished 5th in stock stadium truck with his X – 60, and took 5th in Pro2 SC with the all new SCX – 60CF.
Marx qualified in the A at the first round of the 6-race monthly series, but it was held Easter weekend and Tim had a family commitment which forced him to miss the main event.
