Performance wise the CR-01 also hangs somewhere in the middle between a scaler and a crawler. With the 2.2″ tires & high center clearance I found it slightly more capable than your standard scaler. During our testing session we also had 2 Axial SCX10’s on hand. The Tamiya CR-01 was able to tackle some of the more challenging areas of the rock course (hosted by Aron J. Smith of AJS Machine). Where the scx10’s axles hung down, or the lower clearance of the center skid got hung up, the lifted CR-01 was able to clear and conquer areas the others struggled with. Not to say the other two didn’t make it eventually, it was just more challenging.
