One of my favorite things about Tamiya kits is their manual. On every page there is a detailed diagram of the hardware required. The diagram is displayed in actual size so that you can place the part over the diagram to ensure you are using the right part.
One thing that is a little intimidating is the massive amount of screws that come per bag. A lot of them are similar in size as well, such as 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm length M4 screws.
This is where that Cow mat comes in extremely handy. I measured all the screws before starting each section and divided them by size. Having them seperated like this allows you to breeze through the build without having to rifle through a big screw pile hoping you have the right size. The manual helps, but holding each screw up to the manual can be tedious and time consuming.
Also included in the kit is a little container of red thread lock. It’s more of a gel than the liquid stuff you buy in bottles. For the build I just dipped the screw in and got a thin layer of thread lock on the screw. You use this a lot during the build, so keep it handy.
Awesome build, so detailed I could follow it instead of the instructions!;) I love these trucks and can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Truck looks amazing!
