The first step of the kit is the Cantilevers for the suspension. The parts shown below are from the same parts bag. You’ll notice the diff gear parts, axles, tools, and a full bearing kit. The bearings are a big bonus, as not all kits ship with bearings.

Tamiya is famous for their plastics. That said, all of their kits ship with parts still on their mold trees (similar to a plastic model). A good thing to have on hand while building such a kit is a hobby knife or fingernail clippers to clean up the burrs caused by removing the part from the tree. Below is an example of such a burr, followed by the same part after it’s been cleaned up with a knife.

These are the upper spring retainer portions of the cantilever system with bearings installed.

Here’s the other part of the cantilever system. You can see the part on the right is shaped to fit in a groove in the plastic portion.
