I saw these charger stands online. They are homemade, and only available by contacting the person who manufactures them directly. They looked pretty cool, so I decided to give them a try. Of the chargers I run while at the races, only two lie flat. My Onyx 230, and the Thunder AC6. thought was that these stands would not only help see the chargers easier, but would also look cool. These charger stands sit your charger at an optimal angle, so you can view the screen more easily from your seat. They are constructed of ABS plastic. While very light, they do seem quite strong. The stands are custom made to order. The process starts by sending them your charger’s dimensions. From there, they create the perfect sized stand for your application.
We threw the Thunder AC6 on the stand to see how it sat.
Overall we are very impressed. We like the look of the charger on the stand, as well as the convenience of having the face at an angle you can see from your pit seat. One thing we did have trouble with was the stand sliding around on plastic tables. If you have a plastic table, you sometimes need to hold the stand with one hand, while you’re pressing the buttons with the other. I also sometimes use a vinyl topped table for chargers, and we had no issues with sliding on the vinyl. We’ve put some thought into solving the sliding issue. We are going to simply add some rubber tape to the bottom of the stand, by folding a piece around the edge that meets the table. This will give a little grip between the table and the stand.
Depending on your requirements, they can also create a double charger for you.
