Ever mount a new tire on a rim, and run into an issue getting the bead to sit in the wheel flush? Well, you’re not alone. Here’s a quick tip that will help you mount tires like the pros.

If your tires came with the foams already inside, take them out.

Then, you want to turn the foam inside out.

With the foam inside out, take a pair of scissors and cut the outside corners, at a 45 degree angle.

Once you’ve done both sides, turn it right-side in again. Install the foam back into the tire.

You’ll notice that around the bead there is some room without foam, but in the center of the tire the foam is there to fully support the tire. When you put the wheel in, the foam is no longer in the way. You can get a perfect seat on the bead.
