This completes my build and I now have a complete chassis. Next is odds and ends like gluing the tires. I won’t go into this other than to say I opted not to run the kit tires. Instead I chose AKA Enduros in a soft compound. Here’s a shot of them side by side. The stock tires come mounted, but not glued, which is perfect.
Lastly here are some overall shots on the stand again.
In conclusion, it was a very nice build. Fit and finish is on par with the best stuff I have seen. The preassembled stuff was a bit of a disappointment in that I had to check them, and in most cases fix something. It would have been a time saver if they had been built correctly. The manual left something to be desired. The fact that they don’t call out bag letters was sort of annoying as I’ve been used to that in previous builds. Overall I am very happy with it, and when I get a few more races on the truck I will follow up with a full review of this truck’s performance.
Some things I used on this build to complete it or make life easier:
Hex drivers from RC One/Imex R/C
Jumbo Pit Mat from Cow RC
5.5″ Universal stand from AJS Machine
25 & 35wt Shock oil; 5,000 wt Diff oil from Team Associated
Enduro tires by AKA Racing
Electronics:
Team Associated DS1015 servo
Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro ESC
Castle Creations 1410 4 pole motor
Spektrum DX3R w/ SR3100 receiver
Gens Ace 2S 40C 5000mah Lipo
